I build miniature wooden houses and use the sander for final details. Works wonderfully. Let the tool and sandpaper do the work. Very light pressure or you will stall it out. Wish they made saw blade attachments.

This thing is great! But let me first address the misconceptions that people seem to have about this sander: It is a modeling tool designed for and used by mainly Gundam modelers… which means that it is useful for anyone modeling small plastic or similar material models… it’s not meant for wood, metal, or high volume/large object sanding! People don't research what they buy, apparently. Don't go looking for a hammer and buy a wooden bat, basically. For its intended purpose, this thing is amazing! It has plenty enough power and ability to do what it was designed for!! Don’t hesitate to grab one if you are working on the materials it was designed for… I myself build Warhammer, and this sander makes it SO much faster and doesn’t risk over-doing-it and damaging my expensive pieces!!
If you're looking for a small hobby detail sander, this one is almost perfect - I have used it to sand and polish 3D printed clear parts to perfect clarity. I thought the small throw would mean it takes forever to use, but my mind was changed by how quick and easy it is to use.

This is such a useful tool. I do lots of little crafts and projects, a lot of which is 3d printing. I often find myself needing to sand small pieces. Previously ive been folding uo small bits of sand paper and using my finger. This little tool is a game changer. I had some blemishes on a couple guitars from some minor touchup repairs. I couldn't finish them down since I didn't have the tools to do fine sanding in very confined areas. I got this oscillating sander because it appeared it would allow me to do the very fine sanding. I put it to work and I was impressed. It actually did what it seemed it would do. I started with a small square pad with 600 grit, then went to 800, then to 1,000 grit and the finish was now perfectly level. You can actually see the progress you are making so that you don't over sand anywhere. I finished it up with a buffing with compound, then a fine polish and it looks very good. This tool made all that easy to do. Even after 20 minutes, battery life had hardly been touched.

Was dubious at first bust having used it a few times now it is a really useful piece of kit. For small/delicate work it is controllable and very effective. I used it on some 1/144 aircraft kits and will be using it on other models. So much easier than using sanding sticks in tight areas where delicate gentle sanding is needed and more controllable as it is vibrating and so makes it easier to be more precise.
